Anyong Biotech with Marel for Advanced Automation of Seafood Processing

To facilitate upgrading of domestic automated seafood processing, Anyong Biotech of TSC (5434) will sign the letter of intent for a strategic partnership with Marel, the high-end food processing equipment manufacturer, in 2023 Taipei Food on June 14 to intensify cooperation with respect to perch and grouper processing facilities and technology R&D and add new momentum to Taiwan’s automatic seafood processing.
According to the prospect report of the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, upgrading the processing machinery of aquatic products is the key to the technology-oriented industrial transformation. The LOI for a strategic partnership with Marel not only facilitates automation of aquatic product processing and increases efficiency but also supports RD of processing equipment and technology for local fish. The processing solution for local fish helps improve the overall development of Taiwan aquatic product processing industry.
Iceland-based Marel is the pioneering high-end seafood processing equipment and system manufacturer. They use advanced smart technology to ensure the visualization of production efficiency and traceability from field to shelf as an important partner for global food industry.
Anyong Biotech has acquired I-slice 135MA (slicing machine) and MS2730B (filleting machine), the superstar automated machines of Marel. As a top-player in the processing equipment industry, Marel exclusively designs the Innova software which allows the user to check the production line in real-time and achieve capacity optimization by using big data. The field data shows the new splitting machine can be used to process 1,560kg of fish per hour, an increase of nearly 56%.
