The Philippines is one of the top 10 fish farming countries and the 3rdlargest exporter of farmed aquatic products in the world, providing around 7%of the global supply, indicating a huge blue ocean business opportunity. AnyongBiotechnology, an affiliate of Topco Scientific, Taiwan, is attending theTAIWAN EXPO 2019 in Philippines by the invitation of Taiwan External TradeDevelopment Council (TAITRA). In October 2018, Anyong invested NTD$600 million(USD.$19,714,099)to build Anyong Biotechnology plant in Mituo, Kaohsiung, which was crowned asan aquatic food processing plant abiding by the standards of a semiconductorfab. The production line, certified by FSSC 22000, ISO22000, HACCP and HALALCertification, made use of CAS food preservation technology from Japan andintegrated it with a comprehensive food safety assessment and monitoringmechanism on the supply chain.
